Welcome to Finland!

If you are looking for an active holiday, with skiing, boating, hiking and music festivals, you've come to the right place. But Finland also offers some things that are even rarer amid the frantic pace of modern life. Space, time, peace and quiet – the four elements modern life lacks. Finland offers a chance for downshifting even in the heart of the city, and untouched nature is never more than half an hour away. Stay at a cottage, enjoy a sauna and listen to birds singing across the lake. Take in the sound of quiet. Hear yourself think.

The cities of Finland offer a huge variety of things to see and experience

Lake District in the in Southeast Finland, near the border between the European Union and Russia

OULU

Oulu by the bay of Bothnia is a city of high education, modern technology, research and innovation. The island of Hailuoto is located around 50 kilometres from Oulu. Due to its beautiful and extraordinary nature, Hailuoto has been named as one of Finland’s National Landscapes.

HELSINKI

HELSINKI
The capital by the Baltic stretches out to pretty islands where green expanses are never far away and offers a magic all of its own when winter drops its silent white mantle across the streets and buildings. There is ice on the harbour, and snow on trees and statues. Unspoiled nature and Wilderness can be experienced in Nuuksio National Park, just some 30 km from Helsinki.

TURKU

TURKU
Turku is Finland's oldest city and the former capital city. Here you can see the medieval Cathedral as well as Turku Castle in the harbour. Along the Aura River you can walk through medieval cobblestone streets. The river is the heart of the city. During the summer, the riverbanks come to life when people gather here to eat, drink and listen to music. There are old sailing ships moored in the river, and you can take cruises out into the archipelago or to nearby Naantali with the famous Moominworld theme park.

TAMPERE

TAMPERE
Tampere is a city with a long industrial history, as well as many leisure and cultural attractions. The city is beautifully located between two lakes.  You can see a spectacular view of the lakes from the observation towers of Pyynikki ridge and the Näsinneula in Särkänniemi Amusement Park – one of Finland's top summer attractions.
Take a walk along the banks and the rapids of the Tammerkoski River. This river provided hydropower for industry in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today the old red brick factory buildings are devoted to new activities, such as museums, galleries, restaurants, cinemas, theatre, art and craft stalls, and boutiques..

HELSINKI AND TALLINN

HELSINKI is a city just waiting to be discovered – a capital city by the sea with features no other town can offer: a Western city that is nevertheless of manageable size, a modern Nordic way of life with a pinch of Eastern mystery, a home of high technology in which nature is everywhere. What is more, it is a city that changes and lives with the s...Read more
